WHO IS ISABELLE RICHARDS?

Some call me a social commentator with a social conscience.

I’m best known for my time on the TV show Gogglebox Australia and although I’m well known, I’m not known well.

My family showcased multi-generational women’s relationships and voices across the world but in our private lives, we have our own careers, passions and experience beyond watching TV!

With a diploma in Media and Communications studies and ten years experience in the media production industry, I’m now working on my own television projects in factual and scripted drama to continue my passion for real women’s stories.

A television drama series is currently in development with Aquarius Films based on our book.

For me, it’s not about the money or fame and definitely not about the Instagram followers.

I’m determined to continue to use my platform, skills and experience to have real impact on the world I want for the next generation.

That is the definition of success to me.

As a regular columnist, I write about my personal experiences in order to shed light on controversial topics.

My first book, Out of the Box, a memoir I co-authored with my mum Kerry and my grandma Emmie is a unique take on inter-woven generational stories.

I continue to write and produce taboo-breaking content where the uncomfortable, emotional, hilarious truths on subjects that, for women, are normally off the table, are brought to the surface.

I think the big opportunities in the media sector are for the undeniable thirst for telling real women’s stories. The more we use our voices and platforms to share and highlight our experiences, the faster we will achieve a shift in gender equality.

Purpose driven thinking in the media is where it’s lacking and that’s the space I want to be in.
